Anything pink..is a must have!

I love this idea. So simple!

I wish I had a dress form like this.

I am in love with the farm sink.

Maybe when mother decides to give me her piano I can decorate it something like this..a girl can dream can't she?

Wreath "How To" from Country Living

In searching Country Living for fall ideas I found this wreath tutorial and thought I would share. I would love to make one.

WREATH HOW-TOs

Materials: Start with a grapevine wreath as your foundation; purchase at crafts stores. Any dimension will work; the wreath pictured is 18”. Adorn with greenery that you like. Michelle recommends hydrangea blossoms and rugosa rose hips (above) for a pretty combination. For best results, keep materials in proportion to the size of the wreath.

Assembly: Apply cuttings while fresh, making them easier to work with. Use florist's wire (or a hot-glue gun, if stems are very "woody") to affix cuttings, tucking in stems as you go, until wreath is covered on its front and sides.

Finishing: Using florist's wire, attach a loop to the back top of wreath, for hanging. Display away from direct sunlight. Store flat in a box in a cool, dry place, until next year.

Messy closet, please fix yourself cause I don't want to!!

Hello All!!

It has been a crazy busy past week around our house. I have had something going on just about every night. By the time I get home and fix a bite to eat, I'm pooped! I hear that couch calling my name and will power goes right out the door. I have got to get some of my to do list done!  I have been trying to declutter one of the spare bedrooms that I some how manage to clutter when I change out decor. As of tonight that can be marked off the list!! Yeah for me! Now on to organize my closets. Oh me, I had rather take a beaten' than have to deal with clothes. Now don't get me wrong, I love to shop, but to have to organize winter, fall clothes ...I'll take the beaten'!!

Not mine...but pretty close.

My goal..nice neat and organized.

Why is it so easy to let it get in such a mess???

End of the Season Yardsale Find

This is one of my latest and I am afraid the last of the season yard sale finds. The lady had a sticker price of $6.00, I did not even bargain with her on the price. I was so tickled to have found one at such a great price. These original tiles sell for outragous amounts in antique stores. I am hoping to use it our den. But question is???....Do I leave it as is or do I paint it?

 Arrgg..the den.

That is our latest project. The cabinets are in, walls have been puttied and sanded. I bought the wall primer Thursday on my way home from work. Our goal this week is get the walls primed and painted!! I hope to get before and during pics posted this week!!

Old Style Homes

If Brandon would ever give in and let me build a house, it would definitely be the old style, something like these. My dream would be an old farmhouse. Ahh...just the thought..old porcelain sink in the kitchen, huge front porch with rockers, batten board walls..I could keep on going!

Our Trip

I am late posting about our "girls trip" to the Smokies. We headed out Saturday morning. It was a little rainy, but it did not stop us! We stopped in Sweetwater like always and hit all the antique stores. There is one store called Bobby Todd. Oh my, talk about dressed to the tee in Christmas! I love going in that store. They have everything you can imagine to decorate with. I wish I had taken a few pictures.

On our way home we stopped at several little stores we had not ever noticed before. I loved this front porch. It made you feel at home!

I thought I had a few more pics than these..oops. I guess I was too excited shopping!!

We had a blast.

I'm ready for next year!!

Winter Widow...Yet Again.

For those of you that don't know me, I dread this time of year. You ask why? I know, the weather is cooler, the smell of fall, colorful leaves. Whats not to like this time of year...for me it's called, DEER SEASON!

Most wifes love it when their husbands are away for the weekend..well I guess I'm not most. I dread seeing him pack his bags. I know its only for 3 days..but heavens to betsy its the longest three days!

He knows I don't like it, but seeing how much he enjoys it I will endure the loneliness for a few days. I wish him the best of luck for that big "moowee" as we call it. My only restriction is that it is NOT going to hang in my livingroom.

This is as close as it gets to a real deer for me.

Thrifty Thursday

I dropped in the local GW this past Saturday and happen to stumble upon this grease holder. I have been looking for one but I had yet to find one for less than $7.00.

Well this one was a whopping .50 cents!! It did not have a knob on the lid, but I happen to have an extra drawer pull at home so I just attached it to the lid.
Voila..ready to use!

Help!!

To all you Goodwill shoppers!

I am needing your help.

I found this one panel this weekend and I am in need of one more! These are sold at Target but seeing that I only gave $4.00 at the GW I am refusing to pay Target $27.99 for one. So if you happen to be at the Goodwill would you please check and see if they have one of these.

The size is 54"W x84L".

 All help is appreciated!!

If you happen to find one, shoot me an email!!

Thanks bunches!!

Fall..

I am loving this weather we are having here in the South. Its been in the mid 70's during the day and the low 50's at night. It has been so nice to sleep with the windows up! Speaking of colder weather I am ready to get out the warm and cozy sweaters and my cowboy boots. Ahh...my boots. Once you wear a pair of Lucchese you will not want to wear anything else!

If you would have ask me 5 years ago would I wear these..uh, no. But now, I am a lover of cowboy boots!!

My Wreath

Remember my post from a few days ago?

Well, I finished my wreath today.
Its not as big as I would have liked it to be but I am happy with it.

I had orginally planned on using the pumkins and ghords but when I finished putting all of the flowers on it, I just didn't see the need for them. It looked too busy. So I just left it be!

$7.00 and 15 minutes later..

Thrifty Monday

Well, its that time again. I sure am going to miss my "Thrifty Mondays".

I have a few things to share this weekend. We hit several yard sales this weekend but found very little.

A good friend of mine attended a estate sale Friday and found me this cute pitcher type thermos. I instantly fell in love with it. I have never seen anything like it before.

Price .50 cents!!

This USA planter from the thrift store for .96 cents.

Wooden santas also from the thrift stores at .56 cents a piece.

I was so excited when I ran across these baskets and was even more excited when I got home and realized they fit perfectly in the bookshelves!! I found them at Unclaimed Baggage for $6.29 each.

These tags were also a find from yesterday. I have not ever seen any like these. Any ideas of where they may be from? They were $1.00 each.

Well, thats all I have for this week. Thanks for dropping by! Be sure and head over to Rhoda's to see everyone elses goodies!!

{Click her button at the top.}

Have a safe, wonderful and blessed week!!

Until next time!

This past weekend I was out and about and stopped by the local thrift store. I found a few things that I will share on Sunday. I also stopped by Unclaimed Baggage and found this cute lamp. I had been admiring Pottery Barns and also Ballard Designs but I so did not like the price that came along with those. On my way home I stopped by one more thrift store and found the cute burlap shade. I thought it would look pretty good on my new lamp.

Curtain Rod

Ahh..I have fallen in love. With this "curtain rod". This is what I am wanting to do in our den, the problem is finding the oars. I have looked ALL summer long and have had my friends looking too. But we have had no luck.

Do any of you have any for sale??  Any idea of places I need to look that I have not already?

I have about decided I am going to have to make my own. I guess I am going to have to stop looking therefore I'll find them.

Pumpkins

Fall is one of my favorite seasons! I love the array of colors, and just the smell of fall in the air.

This would look cute sitting in a black flower pot beside your front door.

      Cute way of using masks.

Too cute!!

I have so got to get me some pumpkins and ghords.
