Thrifty Treasures

Afternoon Y'all!!
It has been a gorgeous weekend here, cooler
weather and a nice breeze.

Last weekend my husband and I along with two of
our best friends headed to Kentucky to the
longest yard sale. We went last year and had an absolute
blast! So we went again this year.
I had found a few chicken coops but the
problem was...the price.
Any where from $40 to $75. I just did not want to
invest that much in one.

Somewhere in Kentucky we stopped and I spotted this.

I somewhat hesitated to ask..but I stuck with my #1 rule...
A.L.W.A.Y.S ask!!
If not you'll beat yourself up about it.

This chicken coop...$20!
It needs a little work but I was so excited when I seen it!
It has been pressure washed and now it's ready for
some polyurethane and casters. I am thinking of using the bottom as the top and having a piece of glass cut for it.

Thanks for stopping by!
Be sure and head on over to Rhoda's to see some wonderful treasures!!

I found one just like it this week too! Same story - it was also the first time I saw one at a reasonable price. Nice find!

Oh I'd love to see what you do too! Do you have any inspirational photos you could share by chance. My MIL has one of these in her barn. It's a mess but I think making itinto a coffee table for my hubby would be a great idea.

This will make the perfect coffee table! We did the yard sale too, but we are in Alabama. Next year we are going on the road and heading to Kentucky! I have seen several posts about it and it just seems ya'll have better stuff up there! lol

Great find!

Very cool that you found a chicken coop for the price you wanted! It always pays to ask so I'm glad you followed your rule. This will be a charming coffee table. Looking forward to see the finished project.
